Notes on Marriage
Ephesians 5:30-32
For we are members of His body, of His flesh and of His bones. “For this reason a man shall leave his father and mother and be joined to his wife, and the two shall become one flesh.” This is a great mystery, but I speak concerning Christ and the church.
Introduction: Confusion about Marriage
Godly marriage is a relationship that is deep and mysterious. Ungodly wisdom would say marriage is simple and profane, a legal definition to garner benefits from the State or medical rights. The confusion between these two types of marriage is the point for the ungodly do not wish there to be an obvious distinction between the godly and the ungodly. Whether by abuse of marriage within religious circles or mislabeling of marriage within profane circles, it seems that we are blind to a true expression of marriage in our day. May this be a testament to what I believe godly marriage is so that it might find true expression in my life and in those marriages of those who follow me.
